3-Channel Video Installation
Politicians brawl with each other in the heat of the debate while police officers practise their daily tasks at the mall. Here, seemingly unpredictable movements in public spaces are rigorously repeated in continuous circles, bringing up human slapstick’s absurdities and tragicomic aspects: video works with no spoken word and choreography as an expression form. Ginta stages an existence with logic and rules. Movements are composed in a specific rhythm and become irrational and possible simultaneously. With light irony and poetic methods, she examines our daily behaviours from different perspectives and asks about common sense realities and written rules of habits in public spaces. In her video work, she creates situations where bodies slightly slide off the “normal” behaviour and “jump out” of routines.
